In a detailed essay posted on VanityFair.com Thursday, Johnson, 62, accuses the comedian of drugging her at his New York City brownstone in the mid-1980s. He’d invited her to visit his home after she was tapped to audition for a small part on The Cosby Show, saying they could practice their lines there.
During this so-called rehearsal, Cosby allegedly offered Johnson a cup of espresso. Despite declining the drink several times, Cosby insisted and she finally accepted. “It’s nuts, I know, but it felt oddly inappropriate arguing with Bill Cosby so I took a few sips of the coffee just to appease him,” she explains in the essay.
A few moments later, Johnson says she knew she had been drugged. “My head became woozy, my speech became slurred, and the room began to spin nonstop.”
