VIRGINIA WATER, England, Oct. 7 (UPI) — Tiger Woods maintained his comfortable lead atop the men’s world golf rankings as the 2013 season winds down.

Neither the PGA Tour nor the European Tour had events last week. The PGA has formally wrapped up for the year but kicks off its 2013-14 schedule this week with the Frys.com Open in California. The European Tour has a pair of events, including this week’s Portugal Masters, on the 2013 calendar.

Woods posted the clinching point for the United States in Sunday’s Presidents Cup, allowing the Americans to win the event 18 1/2-15 1/2 over the International team. It was the fifth consecutive Presidents Cup win for the United States, which has won seven times and tied once in the nine President Cup competitions.

With no individual events on the schedule, there was no change in the world golf rankings Top 10. Woods has been atop the rankings for 652 weeks.
