JOHANNESBURG (AP) — A South African foundation says retired archbishop Desmond Tutu has left a Cape Town hospital after receiving treatment there.

The foundation, named after Tutu and his wife Leah, said in a statement that the 83-year-old was released Friday morning after nearly three weeks.

His daughter, Mpho Tutu, had said he was hospitalized for treatment of an inflammation.
