(The Mirror) – Ivory Coast sealed their place in the Africa Cup of Nations with a 0-0 draw with Cameroon on Wednesday night – but the match ended in chaos as fans rushed the pitch to celebrate and clashed with baton-wielding police.

The hosts only needed a point from the game to qualify, while opponents Cameroon were already through, having won the group before kick off at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Ivorian city Abidjan.

Stephane Mbia was sent off for Cameroon with half an hour still to play, after being shown a straight red card for a foul on former Arsenal forward Gervinho on the edge of the box.
