(UPI) – Notre Dame running back Greg Bryant is academically ineligible and will miss the 2015 season, the school announced Tuesday.

Bryant was the second leading rusher for the Fighting Irish last season with 289 yards on 54 carries. He will remain on scholarship and be allowed to practice with the team but will not be included on the 105-player roster.

Bryant’s father, Greg Sr., confirmed to IrishIllustrated.com that his son was academically ineligible and said he will not report to preseason camp but plans to be on campus when classes begin later in the month.
