Harley-Davidson Introduces Its First Electric Motorcycle
(LiveWire) – Harley-Davidson has unveiled its first ever full-size electric motorcycle called LiveWire.
The company is set to start a beta test program dubbed Project Livewire next week, which will give an opportunity to select consumers across the country to try the motorcycle and provide feedback about it, PC Magazine reported.
“America at its best has always been about reinvention,” Harley-Davidson COO Matt Levatich said in a statement sent to PC Magazine. “And, like America, Harley Davidson has reinvented itself many times in our history, which customers leading us every step of the way. Project LiveWire is another exciting, customer-led moment in our history.”
The hand-built prototypes of the bike will be officially unveiled at an invitation-only event Monday, June 23, in New York, according to USA Today. After which, the motorcycle manufacturer will take the bike’s handmade demonstration models on the road, stopping at more than 30 Harley-Davidson dealerships around the US this year to solicit feedback from the public. The information that would be gathered from the Project LiveWire will be used by the company to improve the bike.
