Cummings Statement Commemorating Veterans Day
THE AFRO — “On Veterans Day, as on every other day, we must never forget that human freedom remains America’s first principle and the ultimate source of our strength. What is also critical to remember, however, is that the freedoms we enjoy are not free,” said Cummings. “Many have made tremendous sacrifices to ensure our safety, comfort, and way of life.”

“We must particularly remember those who laid down their lives in the service of our nation; we are forever indebted and eternally grateful to them. Today we remember their sacrifice, and we keep their families in our prayers,” continued Cummings. “I thank all of our military forces, current and veteran, who have put their lives on the line for this great nation, and I encourage all Marylanders to do the same.”
