Catch College Football Spirit With These HBCU Marching Bands
(NBC News) – College football season is upon us. Last night marked the start of the NCAA season as teams across the nation held their first games.
Among them, four historically Black colleges and universities (Fort Valley State, West Virginia State, Winston-Salem State, and Alcorn State) kicked off, with dozens of other HBCUs playing throughout the holiday weekend. To get into the college football spirit, we’ve gathered some flawless performances from black college marching bands.
The marching band has long been a source of pride for HBCUs as a celebration of tradition, excellence, and a break from the traditional college marching band status quo. It’s not surprising that some find these bands more entertaining than the actual football game.
