Bridgewater’s Underwhelming Performance Raises Questions

LOUISVILLE – Teddy Bridgewater threw an awful lot of passes during his pro day workout at the University of Louisville on Monday, and not all of them were pretty, tight spirals.

Some of them wobbled. A few of them sailed. A handful were underthrown.

Perfection was hardly the bottom line.

“I can’t sugar coat it,” ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski told USA TODAY Sports. “He was inconsistent.”

Bridgewater, who didn’t throw at the combine last month, showed off his arm for the first time during the draft process to a large contingent of NFL evaluators that included six head coaches.

Hoping to make a strong case to be selected with the No. 1 pick overall by the Houston Texans on May 8 and separate himself from other highly-ranked quarterbacks Johnny Manziel and Blake Bortles, Bridgewater’s best stuff remains on videotape.
