This past Tuesday, April 9, 2019, was an extremely exciting and humbling evening, as the brothers of the Mu Mu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. celebrated a momentous occasion for their chapter. At their very regal and historic Purple Blazer Ceremony, history was made, as the Charter Line (2019) for the Mu Mu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. accepted the challenge as men of Omega to represent the chapter as the FIRST line to ever cross the burning sands as part of the Mu Mu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

A total of 14 men were issued the challenge to be clean men, of clear vision, of straight thinking, and of unselfish doing. Those 14 men that make up the “Mighty Majestic Noble 14” Charter Line (2019) of the Mu Mu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., in their respective order are:

1. Bro. Charles Turner

2. Bro. Javid Milton

3. Bro. Coleman Rader

4. Bro. Tariq Muhammad

5. Bro. Elgin Weaver

6. Bro. Jeffrey L. Boney

7. Bro. Willie A. Pipkin

8. Bro. Anthony Lamont Green

The ceremony, which was held at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in north Houston, was well attended by several members of the Mu Mu Nu Chapter, as well as other members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., including Ninth District Chaplain Bro. Derrick Lott. Each new Charter Line member was accompanied by a wife, significant other or a family member, and were escorted by their respective mentor.

This was indeed a proud moment for the 28 Charter Members who were willing and ready to serve and who were responsible for the Mu Mu Nu Chapter being chartered on July 28, 2016, as well as all of the members of the Mu Mu Nu Chapter that saw this day come to fruition.

Several members of the Mu Mu Nu Chapter played a part in making sure the overall program was a huge success, including executive officers, mentors and other members of the chapter, such as: Mu Mu Nu Chapter Basileus, Bro. Charles Hopkins; Immediate Past Chapter Basileus, Bro. J’mal Stewart, Sr.; Mu Mu Nu Keeper of Records and Seal, Bro. Karl Rosborough; Bro. John Barker; Bro. Don Spencer; Bro. Darwin Dawson; Bro. Demitrius Crawford; Bro. Julius White; Bro. Ramon Chinyoung; Bro. Casey Howard; Bro. Bennie Isabell; Bro. Cecil Tatum; Bro. Ken Martin; Bro. William Minix; Bro. Dr. Isaac Williams; Bro. James Manuel; Bro. Chris Royal; Bro. Joel Rice; Bro. Bobby Roberson; Bro. Alfonso Watts; Mu Mu Nu Vice Basileus, Richard Ray; Mu Mu Nu Chaplain, Dr. Sheldon Moss; Mu Mu Nu Keeper of Finance, Joseph Long; and several others.

Prior to the program ending, the Charter Line (2019) presented the Mu Mu Nu chapter members with a beautiful banner that displayed the founding date of the fraternity, along with the fraternity founders and the chapter’s name and location.

The program then concluded with the singing of the fraternity’s hymn by all members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and a reception that followed.

To: Open Letter to Mu Mu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Reference Black Press above article by Jeffery L. Boney, “A Monumental and Historic Evening for the Mu Mu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.” It’s very Informative Revealing and Enlightening!

A few thoughts of my “little esteem” for you the Mu Mu Nu Chapter and “All Such” Black fraternities, sororities, etc. My topic (and please don’t insult me) is not the Good you’ve done nor Good you’re now doing. Therefore, please show me the respect you expect from others by staying on the “Subject” – Reparation, listed below.

    1. Do you the Mu Mu Nu Chapter Support and Advocate “Money Reparation to American Blacks for the Evil, “UnGodly” Slavery – Beatings, Whippings, Rape of Black Women and Children, Castration of Black Men, Lynchings, Being Burned Alive, Murders, Jim Crowism, Segregation, Discrimination, etc.? A simple “Yes or No” will do. Note, I’m not asking for your reasoning Mu MU Nu Chapter – just “Yes or No,” Do you Support and Advocate Money Reparation to American Blacks for Slavery?

Black Press and All People who read this Post, let’s see what the Mu Mu Nu Chapter’s response is. Let’s see if they answer a Simple, Direct “Yes or No” Question with a Simple, Direct “Yes or No” Answer. You The Readers of Black Press be the Judge and let Black Press know your comments on the Mu Mu Nu Chapter’s answer to my Question or “non answer or non reply,” if such should be the case.”

Let’s keep in mind this paraphrased Adage: All that’s necessary for Evil to continue (in this case, the woes, ills, etc. of Post Black Slavery that Blacks yet suffer under, is for “Black Men” to Remain Silent, Not Make a Stand for Justice, Money Reparation, Respect and True Equality which is Guaranteed by Our Constitution of The United States of America!

My following Haiku Poem on the Mu Mu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. I follow the traditional Japanese format: 1) No title; 2) Exactly, 17 syllables total; 3) Three Segments and 4) A 5-7-5 syllables, segments ratio.

    Mu Mu Nu Speak Out!
    For Money Reparation?
    Silence Not Golden!

I close saying to the Mu Mu Nu Chaper.

    1. “I am neither the Topic nor Subject” which “Intelligent People” Know and can See. Just answer the Question and show me the Respect you want people to show you. To wit: If you ask a simple, direct “Yes or No Question” – you expect a simple, direct “Yes or No Answer.”

    2. Who will Deny – that “Some” of the over 45 Million American Blacks would like to Know Your Answer and Stand on Money Reparation for Slavery to American Blacks? It is that Simple.

    3. Any Attack by You against Me – and “I Will Up The Ante!” Meaning, I’ll Counter-Attack with Facts, Data, etc. and in particular, You’ll look “Worse” to “Some” in The American Black Community of over 45 Million People!

Black Press, Readers; and Other People – the Mu Mu Nu Chapter won’t be able to say I didn’t Alert/Warn them! Let them Focus on the Topic, Subject and Issue – Money Reparation! Our Great Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. said: Justice delayed is Justice denied! And Rev. King said, In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends. I Agree with Rev. King!
(https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/martin_luther_king_jr_103571). Respectfully, but are you Listening Mu Mu Nu Chapter?

The comments made and challenge given are appropriate. I must say that our fraternity is doing something about every issue put forth by this gentleman. The good that we do in Omega far out shines all your request. We fight against the very forces that you say we should address. The evils done and the reparations overdue us. The answer is yes for all Omegas , not just MU Nu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
