Nutrition experts have come up with new guidelines to help people lose weight and prepare themselves for the summer months. The Fasting Mimicking Diet has many health benefits, new study finds after observing the evolution of the members of the study group.

Fasting may bear more than religious significance, scientists have concluded recently. Their declaration is grounded on the positive results that the practice has had during a recent medical study. More specifically, researchers has found out that refraining yourself from food for just five days a month could have outstanding results for your health.

The research was conducted with the help of the National Institute of Aging and a small group of individuals with weight problems. The latter were asked to follow the “Fasting Mimicking Diet” for five days a month for an interval of three months.
