(Politico) – The sister of a wrestling team manager at the Illinois high school where Dennis Hastert once coached says her brother revealed years of abuse from the future speaker of the House years ago.

The revelations came in 1979 as Steve Reinboldt, the student equipment manager, revealed to his younger sister Jolene that he was gay, eight years after he graduated high school.

“I asked him, when was your first same sex experience. He looked at me and said, ‘It was with Dennis Hastert,’” Jolene Reinboldt said in an interview with ABC News published Friday. “I was stunned.”

Asked why he never told anyone, Jolene Burdge (née Reinboldt) said her brother asked, “Who is ever going to believe me?”
