Control Issues Out of Control

My Southern sistahs on Married to Medicine had a hard time this week. Emotions got the best of them, especially Lisa Nicole. The empowerment diva sensed she was walking into a bad situation and that’s exactly what happened. Quad invited Lisa Nicole to a meeting in the name of peace or so she says. But the meeting was anything but!

It started with Quad sharing her thoughts about Lisa digging into her past by getting a background check and ended in a brawl with Lisa Nicole responding full force because of triggers thrown by Quad. Triggers included a battery charge in her past, though she was never arrested. Along with the deepest scar of all, her husbands cheating, resulting in, we’re told, a child. Later, we learned it wasn’t his kid. Quad left with a cut on her face and Lisa left with a broken spirit.

The women learned of this “meeting that went bad” at Dr. Jackie’s event. Speaking of the Dr. J’s event, I’m also one of those folks that’s a bit irked by people who try to “help” overweight people without understanding the struggle they go through. I see your heart Dr. J., but be careful about preaching on a pain you can’t relate to.

The Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY) also had some control issues…

Skinny Girl Bethenny Frankel decided to make a scrumptious meal for the ladies. While prepping away Ramona coaster popped in and said I think we’re heading out to have lunch at a cool restaurant. Of course, this sets off Bethenny, which sets off everyone. What I found cool about this interaction is they fought, yelled and then made up. It was friendship at its best.

While having this great lunch, I loved it when Ramona shared her book idea and know-it- all Bethenny piped in with “this is how it is” advice that turned off Heather and Carole. Pissed off, they begin to discuss among themselves and Bethenny overhears and decides to confront them and then, you guessed it, they fought, yelled and made up.

This episode ended with the ladies headed out for the evening and Ramona still in her “I’m ready to piss everybody off” mood. Carole and Heather and a couple of the other ladies make the rounds that include chatting it up with the handsome owner, only to get abruptly interrupted by Ramona-coaster, as she decides she wants his attention. Really!

This craziness continues next episode. I can’t wait!

There was an entirely different episode of (Real Housewives of the OC) filled with emotion. After last week’s disagreement between Shannon and Meagan, the ladies decided to put their anger aside and give this new relationship a shot at Shannon’s game- themed party. During the party, Vicki, the queen of the OC, got news that would change her life forever. Her mother unexpectedly died and she learned the news from her daughter over phone. She fell to the floor and reverted to a 5-year old crying for her mother in a matter of minutes.

It was excruciatingly painful to watch. I cried so hard for her and immediately called my parents and told them I loved them. It was sadness, pain and realness rolled into one. This scene made me think of how the producers must have felt as this happened and how they made the decision to air this. I did find out via blog, that Vicki gave her permission. We love you Vicki, you have our sympathy.

I have to tell you about one of my fav’s, Big Brother; it’s now getting good. They actually have twins acting as one person. If they are successful fooling the other housemates for a certain period of time, they get to both play as individuals. I heard from the streets they may be exposed this week. Ooh, I can’t wait. Also, my favorite houseguest on the show, Dey, is causing drama. She is a Tamar wannabe, emotional and all. She’s smart and not so smart. She’s also in danger of being voted out if she does not improve her social game. Please! Keep her in Big Brother. We have the Barbie and Ken houseguests who are in power and they want Dey out. We will see!

Looks like my Braxton girls will finally have it out. I wish that Tamar will say I’m sorry and learn to listen. I understand ya, girl. I had to learn myself. I also hope that Tracy, shares with her sisters her need to feel supported. But don’t get your hopes up.
