More than two years after M.I.A. upstaged Madonna with the flip of her middle finger during the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show, the NFL says it wants $16.6 million in restitution from the Sri Lanka-born rapper.

Last year, it was revealed the NFL was seeking $1.5 million and an apology from M.I.A. for alleged breach of contract and damaging the league’s “wholesome reputation.” Now it wants an additional $15.1 million, which it claims is the advertising value of the two-minute performance, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
