  • The mark of the beast vv. 16,17
  • The number of the beast v. 18

Let’s talk about it:

1. In vv.1,2 how do the beast and the dragon differ? What influencing roles do they play together upon the world?
   1. What is the significance of the sea in the scheme of the action in the revelation? The beast rises from the sea.
2. In vv.3,4 what one thing caused the people to become carried away with the beast and to give it extreme personal worth or value?
3. What is the opposition that the beast demonstrated in vv.5,6 and against whom?
4. What is the extent of the power given to the beast according to v.7
5. According to v. 8 who are those whom will value and give loyal devotion to the beast?
6. As the majority of the world is devoted to serving the beast what are Christian believers expected to do according to vv.9, 10? (cp. Hebrews 11:36-40)
7. According to v. 11 what are the amazing descriptions of the beast out of the earth?
8. What is the role of the earthly beast mentioned in v.12?
9. How would you describe the power of the earthly beast and its influence upon people according to vv.13,14?
10. How would you describe the power of the beast in v.15 and what impact will it have on true Christian believers?
11. What will the beast require of those whom worship it to do according to vv.16,17? What signs of the beast’s system do you see already in play within the world today?
12. According to v.18 what is the number of the mark of the beast that people will wear? Research ancient biblical number systems to discover as much solid information as you can about the number 666. No one has the absolute meaning of this number. Verse 18 makes it clear that it represents a man of world influence. Christ will reveal the whole truth of all things when He comes.
