Kerry Washington Lands First Fashion Cover [GLAM]
Olivia Pope has finally made it! Scandal star Kerry Washington has finally landed her first fashion cover for Elle’s June 2013 issue. Though the star has been a regular on Ebonyand Essence (covering the March 2013 and March 2012 issues, respectively), she has only been featured inside the pages of mainstream magazines like InStyle.
Besides rocking Marc Jacobs on the cover, Washington touches on her her transition from the “kooky theater kid” to screen star between the pages as well as her clinical psychology ambitions and her recent success. “I’m the luckiest broad in Hollywood now. To be the lead actor on Scandal and to be in the highest-earning Tarantino movie—I don’t get to ask for more,” she told the glossy.
After strolling the Met Gala red carpet last night with Vera Wang with purple streaks to match her gown, the red carpet process has become a collaborative effort with her glam squad. “I found out I enjoy the process,” she said in the issue. “All these people show up at my house, they all have kits, someone has dresses. And it’s like, ‘let’s have fun.’ It’s not all about me. We’re able to create stories on the red carpet.”
Keep your eyes open as the issue is set to hit newsstands on May 21st.
