Donovan McNabb Rips Matt Stafford’s Big Contract Extension

Matt Stafford inked a contract extension with the Detroit Lions that will see him earn $76.5 million over the next five years, including $41.5 million in guaranteed new money. While Stafford isn’t making Aaron Rodgers money, it’s a serious investment on the part of the Lions, who now have Stafford under contract until 2017.

Donovan McNabb, for one, doesn’t feel Stafford is worth that much. On NFL Total Access Tuesday night, McNabb argued that Stafford has done nothing for the Lions in his career, and that contracts should come down to wins and losses.

Via MLive.com:

“When you look at just the numbers overall, you have to think about 12,000 yards and being the youngest quarterback to reach this feat and also the things he’s been able to accomplish, you know you begin to question this…. Is he worth top 5 money? I would have to say no. And I say that because it’s about wins and losses….. What has he really done for the Detroit Lions? Nothing.”
