Chinese President, Top Officials Given 62 Percent Pay Increase to Battle Corruption
BEIJING, Jan. 22 (UPI) — Chinese President Xi Jinping and several Communist Party officials received a 62 percent pay increase to their salary.
President Xi will be making $1,832 a month, about $22,000 a year. The top seven leaders of the Communist Party of China will earn about $1,854 a month.
Civil servants will also see a pay rise. Low-status civil servants’s pay will more than double to about $212.
