MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. (NNPA) — Miami attorney Jason M. Murray becomes the Dade County Bar Association’s 99th president when he takes the oath of office on June 6, 2015, during the annual installation gala at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. With more than 4,800 active members, the Dade County Bar Association is the largest voluntary bar association in Florida and is the bar association for all lawyers of Miami-Dade County. Murray will become the first African-American president of the Association as it celebrates its 99th year of service to the bench, the bar and Miami-Dade County. The ceremony at the gala also will include the installation of the Officers and Directors of the Association and its Young Lawyers Section.

Murray’s focus during his presidency will include continuing the work of breaking down barriers to racial, ethnic and gender diversity within the bench and bar of our legal community.

“Our goal,” said Murray “is to grow the Association by providing all Miami-Dade County attorneys with opportunities to increase their knowledge through CLE programs and expand their referral networks through the more than 250 events we host each year.” Murray also stated that “diverse lawyers must be given opportunities to participate in our programing and must feel welcomed at our events.” During Murray’s presidency, he will also promote unity and cooperation between the county’s local bar associations as the Dade County Bar Association commences preparations to celebrate its centennial next year.

Murray is the President and CEO of Murray Law, P.A. He practices in the area of franchise and distribution law and provides counsel and assistance with creating, managing, licensing, protecting and enforcing franchised business relationships, product distribution systems and dealership networks. His franchise and distribution law practice specifically relates to licensing and development, regulation and compliance, and dispute resolution through mediation, arbitration and litigation. Additionally, he practices in the areas of general commercial litigation in state and federal courts including intellectual property, real property, trade secrets & non-compete litigation as well as business litigation and trade regulation matters.
