The Eagles have no plans to re-sign Michael Vick, which means he’ll be free to sign elsewhere come Tuesday, the first day of free agency.

Vick tops the list of a decidedly unexciting free-agent quarterback class, and there’s been speculation he could end up with the Jets where he would challenge Geno Smith for the starting job. But Vikings running back Adrian Peterson thinks Vick makes more sense in Minnesota.

In response to a tweet from NFL Network that asked, “Mike Vick would instantly make ____ a playoff contender,” AP responded with this:

Vick flourished in Chip Kelly’s offense last season before he was sidelined with a hamstring injury and eventually lost his job to Nick Foles. It’s reasonable to think he could have success in Minnesota, too, especially with Peterson in the backfield and downfield weapons like Greg Jennings and Cordarrelle Patterson. The bigger issue, as always, is whether Vick can stay healthy. He’s hasn’t played a full season since 2006, but new Vikes’ offensive coordinator Norv Turner is known for getting the most out of his quarterbacks.
